Recent BlindScreen® Install in Stourbridge on Kitchen French Doors
A quick one from our installation team this week. A homeowner in Stourbridge wanted something a bit more flexible than a blind on a set of kitchen French doors. The doors open straight out onto the garden, so in summer the room either ends up too bright and warm or full of insects whenever the doors are open. We fitted a dual-track BlindScreen® on each door, with a Scene Set™ dim-out fabric in grey on one track and an integrated bug-screen mesh on the other.
The result has gone down really well. Light in the room is much more comfortable through the middle of the day, the doors can sit wide open without bugs getting in, and the slim grey cassette barely registers against the door frame when everything is retracted.

The video below shows how it works day to day. One track pulls across the bug-screen mesh, the other pulls across the Scene Set™ dim-out fabric, both on the same slim grey frame. Either can be retracted back into the side cassette completely out of sight when not in use.
A quick word on Scene Set™
Scene Set™ is BlindScreen®‘s dim-out fabric. It is not a true blackout. It gently filters out roughly half of incoming daylight, taking the edge off glare and warmth without making the room dark. That is exactly what was wanted here: somewhere you can sit at the kitchen table on a bright afternoon without being squinted at by the sun, while still keeping a connection to the garden outside. If you need full blackout (for bedrooms, nurseries or shift work) we would specify a different fabric.
