Full Height Shutters for a Front-Facing Bay Window in Halesowen
This homeowner in Halesowen came to us through a family referral. They’d just had new windows fitted as part of a wider renovation and wanted to sort the front-facing bay next, mainly for privacy from the road.
The Options
With a bay window like this, one of the first decisions is how much of the window to cover.
Café style. This covers the bottom half of the window only, so the top stays open for light while the bottom gives privacy. It’s a popular choice for bays, but with this window facing directly onto the road, it wouldn’t have covered enough of the glass to solve the privacy problem properly.
Full height. This covers the whole window, top to bottom, so there’s no gap at eye level from the street. Given the privacy was the main reason for getting in touch, full height was the clearer fit.
They went with full height shutters in White, with 63mm louvres.
The Install
We fitted full height shutters in White across all four panels of the bay window, with 63mm louvres. Each pane of the bay was shuttered separately, so every panel can be opened and its louvres adjusted on its own to suit the light and the angle of the room.
