Full Height Engineered Wood Shutters in Rowley Regis
Why He Contacted Us
This homeowner in Rowley Regis had already decorated his living room in a minimalist, Scandi style and wanted shutters that would fit the look. Clean lines, plenty of natural light, and nothing fussy, so plantation shutters were an easy match for a room he’d already put a lot of thought into.
Bi-Fold, Split Tilt, or Somewhere Else
We talked through a couple of routes before landing on the final spec.
Bi-fold shutters. These were considered early on, but bi-fold panels hinge together in sections, and each hinge point adds a solid frame edge rather than louvres. With this window needing multiple folding panels, that meant more solid vertical strips breaking up the glass and the view. Since keeping as much natural light in the room as possible was the priority, this ruled bi-fold out.
A different supplier. He was initially put off by our lead time and went to price up another company that could turn the job around faster. Once he saw the material and build quality in person, he came back to us. The shorter lead time wasn’t worth the drop in quality.
In the end, he went with full height engineered wood shutters in Pure White.
The Install: Split Tilt in Pure White
We fitted full height shutters across two panels in a living room configuration, in engineered wood with 76mm louvres in Pure White. We used a split tilt design so the bottom louvres can stay closed for privacy while the top stays open, keeping the room bright without breaking up the glass the way a bi-fold setup would have.
